The Outsider Awards sponsored by Sport Ireland, are a celebration of everything that makes the Irish outdoors extraordinary.

From Antarctic marathon wins, world-record-breaking runs, to swimming and running around Ireland, rewilding landscapes, and building inclusive outdoor communities, the awards recognise the people who have shaped the last 12 months of Irish adventure.

This year’s nominees include trailblazers like Becky Gilmore, who skated the Wild Atlantic Way end to end; Darragh Morgan, continuing his epic swim around Ireland; and Catríona Jennings, whose 100-mile world-record performance redefined endurance running.

​

Alongside them are climbers, runners, swimmers, environmental stewards, organisers, and everyday adventurers who embody what it means to explore, protect, and belong in the outdoors.
