
BOX OFFICE SUPERVISOR
Part-Time (minimum 20 hours per week)
About The Role
The Box Office Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a venue's box office, ensuring efficient ticket sales, providing excellent customer service, and managing a team of box office staff.
Key Tasks

To provide an efficient Box Office sales service operating a computerised Ticket system (currently Ticketsolve). Training provided.

Managing ticket sales through various channels, including online, phone, and in-person, and ensuring accurate processing of transactions.

To maintain and nurture relationships with regular attendees to The Helix.
-
To input and update the database as required.

Group Sales, invoicing, and payment reconciliation.
-
Setting up shows for sale. And daily reports.
-
Reconcile and record transactions daily and bank lodgements.

To adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety policy. And Fire Evacuation procedures.

To make a positive contribution to the work of the Box Office team and Company as a whole.

Supervising box office staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.

To carry out any other task which may be required by the Box Office Manager.

Assisting with show management, including guest lists, seat changes, and on-site event support.

Addressing and resolving any issues that arise during box office operations, such as ticket discrepancies, customer complaints, or technical difficulties.
Responsibilities

The Box Office Supervisor will be required to work evenings and weekends as well as daytime hours.

Exhibit proper interdepartmental communication and organisation.

Work with the Box Office Manager to appropriately respond to patron issues.

Act as lead in Box Office Manager’s absence and manage the Box Office Team.

Follow Box Office management procedures to comply with venue policies.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Essential Skills

Supervisory Experience: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

Computer literate (experience of Ticketsolve preferable but not essential)

Sales Background

Excellent Customer Service skills

Shift flexibility essential.

FRONT-OF-HOUSE DUTY MANAGER

About The Role
The Helix Theatre, located at DCU in Glasnevin is looking to hire Duty Managers in a casual capacity in advance of the upcoming season. Successful applicants will display strong skills within the realm of customer service; a kind, hospitable and proactive personality; strong communication capabilities and an ability to lead a team.
The Helix is one of Dublin's leading venues for entertainment, and a position as a Duty Manager is vitally important in managing the Front of House team to ensure our patrons have the ultimate experience.
On shift you will manage a team of Chief Stewards and volunteers, and work closely with other staff members in other departments. You will report directly to the Front of House Manager.
This position will suit individuals looking for weekend or evening work, as complimentary to their studies or other commitments, particularly those looking for a career in the fields of events, entertainment, arts or hospitality.
Key Responsibilities

Meeting and liaising with local and international clients and assisting them to deliver exceptional events across the fields of entertainment and conferencing.

Professionally and personally engage with promoters, stakeholders, delegates, performers, crew and guests throughout their time at The Helix, to provide them with a wonderful experience in all facets of venue operation.

Completing all relevant paperwork for every event; including legal documents such as show reports and merchandise sales forms.

Leading a team of Chief Stewards and Ushers to ensure the Front of House operations of The Helix work effectively and seamlessly during shows and events.

Liaising with other departments of The Helix, including the technical crew, box office supervisors, bar and catering staff, cleaning staff, security and stage door attendants.

Assisting patrons with any and every request, and handling their complaints in a reasonable and empathetic manner.

Delivering direct briefings for staff members before shows or events to ensure the entire team are ready for all aspects of the upcoming event.

Ensuring all Front of House operations are carried out in accordance with company procedures, Health and Safety policies and Fire Evacuation procedures.

Managing audience flow and ensuring the safety and comfort of all patrons attending events.

Acting as the lead point of contact during performances and events, responding to any operational issues that may arise.

Supporting the Front of House Manager with the day-to-day running of venue operations.

Carrying out any additional duties as assigned by management.
