“Reeling In the Showband Years” Returns to The HELIX

for Its Record-Breaking 15th Year

The great nostalgic tribute show “Reeling In the Showband Years” has been a smash hit across Ireland for the past 15 years, and we are delighted to announce its return to The Helix, to celebrate this incredible milestone.

​

RTE’s Ronan Collins returns as host and compère. Ireland’s Mr. Music will also perform his renowned tributes to the great Joe Dolan, the Eurovision, and more.

​

Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh headlines this year’s showband spectacular. A larger-than-life performer, Niamh brings her powerful presence to the stage with her iconic Eurovision-winning song “In Your Eyes” and many other hits. A performance not to be missed.

​

Gina from The Champions is back. A true showbiz superstar, Gina and her band dominated the showband era with numerous hit records and sold-out shows throughout the country. Her biggest hits included “Minnie Minnie”, “Do You Wanna Do It”, “You're the Greatest Lover”, “Who Do You Wanna Be”, “Give Me Back My Love”, and “Playing with Fire”. Gina was consistently voted Top Irish Pop Band in national polls and still delivers a powerhouse performance.

Shaun O’Dowd also returns to this year’s show. With his band Ding-A-Ling, he was one of the biggest draws in Ireland during the 1970s. Shaun topped the charts with hits like “You Are No Angel” and “It’s Good To See You”. An outstanding entertainer and a class act on any stage.

Keith and Lorraine McDonald — a brother and sister duo from one of Ireland’s oldest musical families — bring their immense talent to the stage once again. Their father, Frankie, played trumpet with Joe Dolan for many years. Lorraine is one of the standout talents from the late showband era, while Keith has carved out a star reputation of his own. Their TV show “Keith & Lorraine’s Music Hour” on Spotlight TV (Sky 365) was number one in the ratings for months.

Dave Lawlor, the pride of Tullamore, delivers a stunning vocal performance. He rose to fame in the 1970s with his hit “Showband’s on Parade” and remains a standout showman today.

The Conquerors Showband, one of the greatest showbands of all time, continues to pack venues nationwide. Hailing from Galway, their beloved hits like “Baby Blue” still thrill audiences.

​

The show concludes with a rousing all-cast finale — a salute to the showband era, featuring a medley of songs that defined a generation. All the stars join together on stage, bringing audiences back to a magical and unforgettable period in Irish music history.
