Number of hours per week: Part Time (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)
Reporting to: Head of Programming.
Contract: Initial Twelve-Month Period.

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing commercial relationships and revenue generating opportunities with Promoters, university affiliated organisations, event planners and production and touring companies. The candidate will be required to effectively manage and administer the sales pipeline for numerous rental spaces across the venue from a diverse and growing customer base. This is a significant business development role where the successful candidate will be required to work on a very busy programme of events, information provision, artist services and general supports therefore previous relevant experience is preferable.
Key Responsibilities and Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- In conjunction with the Head of Programming, Identify, develop and deliver commercial
opportunities through effective programming of the spaces within The Helix.
- Continuously develop relationships with prospective and current promoters.
- Conduct site inspections and tours of the venue as required.
- Create bespoke proposals for enquiries within agreed time frames.
- Management of the venue booking system and responsibility for maintenance of customer
records, enquiries, bookings, correspondence, and contracts.
- Managing and administering of all elements of the contracting process.
- Dissemination of all relevant show information across internal departments namely technical, box office, marketing, front of house, bar & catering and ensure communication in respect of all enquiries and bookings is managed and processed effectively.
- To prepare financial settlements as per contractual obligations.
- To engage fully with other departments within the venue in order to positively influence revenue in all areas.
- To be familiar with the health & safety and fire policies for the venue and to attend
mandatory updates where required.
- Undertaking of additional duties as may be reasonably requested within the general scope
and responsibilities of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will preferably have relevant experience in venue and programming sales with a strong track record of achieving / exceeding targets, experience in successfully engaging key decision makers, closing the sale and building long term relationships.
- Commercially aware with experience of generating revenue and exceeding financial targets.
- Ability to work within a team while being self-motivated.
- Excellent time management skills
- Possess excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Well presented, with excellent customer service skills and awareness
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at
all levels.
- Excellent relationship builder.
- Energetic with a positive attitude and a high degree of initiative.
- Highly computer literate.
