The Helix Theatre, located at DCU in Glasnevin, is looking to hire duty managers in a casual capacity in advance of the upcoming season.. We are looking for individuals with:

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
   

As one of Dublin’s leading entertainment venues, The Helix relies on Duty Managers to oversee the front-of-house team, ensuring our patrons have an exceptional experience. You will manage a team of chief stewards and volunteers, working closely with other departments and reporting directly to the Events & Operations Coordinator.

This role is ideal for those seeking weekend or evening work, particularly individuals pursuing careers in events, entertainment, arts, or hospitality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

​

As a Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:

​

Client & Event Management

• Liaising with local and international clients to deliver top-tier events.

• Professionally engaging with promoters, performers, crew, and guests to enhance their experience.
   

Administrative & Operational Tasks

• Completing all event paperwork, including legal documents such as show reports and merchandise sales forms.

• Directing pre-show briefings for front-of-house staff.
   

Team Leadership & Venue Coordination

• Leading the chief stewards and ushers to ensure seamless operations.

• Collaborating with technical teams, box office, bar and catering staff, security, and cleaning crews.
   

Patron Experience & Customer Service

• Assisting patrons with requests and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
   

REQUIREMENTS 

​

Essential

• Previous customer service experience

• Availability for evening and weekend work

• Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Strong leadership and communication skills
   

Desirable

• Prior experience in event management, supervision, or crowd handling

• Own means of transportation

• First aid training (not required but beneficial)

• Interest in Dublin's arts and entertainment scene
