Alan Stanford, one of the Ireland’s finest directors, returns to The Helix with a new production of Hamlet.
Hamlet is perhaps the most quoted, but least understood of all of Shakespeare’s plays. Hamlet, Prince of Demark’s world comes crashing down.
The King is dead, murdered by his uncle Claudius. His mother, the Queen marries Claudius and Hamlet must now avenge his father’s death. As Hamlet sets out on his act of revenge, he is fraught by an intense psychological and philosophical struggle that asks some of the most fundamental questions about life and death.
Marty Rea stars as Hamlet, with some of Ireland’s finest actors in the supporting roles that include, Stephen Brennan as Polonius, and Maeve Fitzgerald as Ophelia and Barbara Brennan as Gertrude.
